2021 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross facelift spied
Revised crossover will sport big changes at both ends with the company's latest face up front, and a less controversial design for the back.
The updated Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has been spied for the first time.
Up front the revised Eclipse Cross will have a slimmer lighting array, possibly housing only driving lights, near the leading edge of the bonnet.
The main and high beam units look as though they now live in an enlarged cluster of lights lower down the front bumper.
To go along with these changes, the front bumper has been completely redone to incorporate a Dynamic Shield grille design similar to the one found on the latest Triton ute.
At the back there's a new tailgate design removing the two-piece rear window split by a red lighting strip. In its place is a much more conventional setup with horizontal tail-lights stretching into the tailgate.
Along the sides the Eclipse Cross has redesigned sills, and altered rear quarter panels to accommodate the new tail-light shape.
It's not known whether Mitsubishi is planning to upgrade any of the crossover's drivetrains. In Australia the crossover is powered solely by a 110kW/250Nm 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo tied to a CVT and the choice of front- or all-wheel drive.
The Eclipse Cross is also available with a 107kW/380Nm 2.2-litre turbo-diesel in some overseas markets, including Japan.
There will likely be some changes to the interior, including the customary trim fiddles and infotainment upgrades.
