2020 Porsche 911 spied with Aero Package

No, it isn't a full-on GT3. Instead, our spy photography agency believes it's a regular 911 with some aero add-ons.

The 2020 Porsche 911 has been snapped wearing a new, not-quite-motorsports aero bodykit.

It's not quite clear what this 992-generation 911 represents, because it wears elements that could have been borrowed from a number of different models.

The wheels have more than a hint of 911 GT3 to their design, while the front bar has echoes of the previous-generation 911 Turbo about it.

Meanwhile, the rear wing isn't nearly as large as that of the GT3 and GT3 RS mules we've snapped getting around the Nurburgring, but it's significantly larger than stock. Hmmm.

Our spy photographer has suggested this is a '911 Aero Package' – an optional kit for the regular Carrera, designed to add some visual drama (and downforce, presumably).

Porsche hasn't confirmed when the Aero Package will be added to the 911's impressive list of options, but industry scuttlebutt says the first half of 2020 is likely.

Currently, the Porsche 911 line-up ranges from Carrera to Carrera 4S, with no GT3 or Turbo variants available as yet.
