2020 Porsche Macan GTS revealed, here early next year

Porsche has revealed the powered-up 2020 Macan GTS, ahead of its arrival in Australia during the first quarter of 2020.

Power in the new Macan GTS comes from a 2.9-litre turbocharged V6 engine making 280kW and 520Nm, up 15kW and 20Nm on the car it replaces.

The 100km/h sprint takes 4.7 seconds with the Sport Chrono package fitted, an improvement of 0.3 seconds, and you'll be doing 261km/h flat out.

Along with the uprated engine, the powered-up Macan has been treated to a tweaked dual-clutch transmission (PDK).

Compared to the regular Macan and Macan S, the GTS rides 15mm lower as standard. An air suspension system drops the car by a further 10mm, but it's an optional extra.

A set of 20-inch RS Spyder Design wheels are standard, behind which hide a set of 360mm front and 330mm rear brakes. There are two further brake options: Porsche Surface Coated Brakes (PSCB) and Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes (PCCB).

Along with the wheels, you'll be able to differentiate the GTS from more mundane variants by its Sport Design bodykit – there's a new front and rear bumper, and new side skirts, all of which are finished with black trim.

The bar linking the rear lights is smoked, too, while the headlamps can be blacked out with the options 'dynamic light system plus'.

Inside, there are smatterings of Alcantara on the seats, centre console, and armrests, while eight-way sports seats are standard fit. A set of 'comfort seats' with 14-way adjustment are also offered as a no-cost option.

In Australia, standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control, lane-change assist, heated front seats, DAB radio, Apple CarPlay, a reversing camera and parking sensors, rear side airbags, a 75L fuel tank, and auto-dimming rear mirrors.
