The design of the next-generation BMW M4 has become a little clearer thanks to the first spy photos of the high-performance coupe, as well as a teaser for the new 2022 M4 GT3 race car.
Compared to the regular 4 Series coupe, the M4 seems to have wider wheel arches and side sills, as well as lower suspension, a subtle boot-lip spoiler and four exhaust tips.
The company has confirmed the M4 will use a version of the S58 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six engine with over 373kW of power, or 500hp in the old money.
Both the M3 and M4 will be available with either rear- and all-wheel drive, as well as the option of a manual transmission, at least in key overseas markets.
Unfortunately the global launch of the new M3 and M4 has been pushed back to late 2020 at the earliest.
Just hours after we received spy photos of the new M4 coupe, BMW issued a teaser of its 2022 M4 GT3 race car.
From the rendering we can see the M4 GT3 will feature an angular and tall set of kidney grilles, very similar to the set which caused such controversy when it debuted on the Concept 4 at this year's Frankfurt motor show.
The new M4 GT3 will begin racing during the 2022 season when new regulations take effect, and the car will replace the M6 GT3.
