2020 Bugatti Chiron Noire: Limited-run hypercars revealed

Bugatti has unveiled the Noire Elegance and Sportive, with just 20 to be built.

Exclusivity is at the core of the Bugatti mystique. When it launched, the brand promised to build just 500 examples of the Chiron, making it one of the rarest vehicles on earth.

But for some, even that isn’t enough. Which is where special editions like the Chiron Noire come in.

Inspired by the Type 57 SC Atlantic, and commissioned on the back of significant interest in the one-off La Voiture Noire revealed in March this year, with a price tag of $17.6 million.

A total of 20 Chiron Noire specials will be built across two lines: Elegance and Sportive.

The former is finished in exposed black carbon-fibre, contrasting with a redesigned grille and solid silver Bugatti emblem.

The window line is finished in polished matte aluminium, while the remaining exterior trim bits are trimmed in carbon-fibre or polished aluminium.

In case you forget what you’re driving, ‘noire’ is etched into the door sills and outside edge of the centre console.

The motif is also sewn into the headrests, while the central armrest houses a carbon plaque highlighting the car’s unique nature.

Meanwhile, the Sportive blends the same exposed carbon-fibre body finish with matte black trim highlights.

The wheels, front splitter, and grille are all blacked out in keeping with the ‘noire’ theme – and it’s the same story behind the wheel.

Regardless of which model you opt for, power comes from the same 8.0-litre W16 engine as the regular Chiron line-up, making the same 1103kW and 1600Nm.

Bugatti will also offer the Chiron Sport in Noire trim, but the slightly lighter, more track-focused model comes at a cost. A significant cost. As in €100,000 ($162,000).

Then again, that’s a drop in the ocean compared to the starting price, which is also significant.

You’ll need to lay down €3 million ($4.87 million) for a Chiron Noire with no options fitted, excluding taxes and government charges.

Deliveries begin in the second quarter of 2020, so get those chequebooks ready.
