Carbon Revolution: Geelong wheel manufacturer going public

The supplier for Ferrari and Ford Performance carbon-fibre wheels is being listed on the Australian stock exchange.

The Geelong company making carbon-fibre wheels for Ferrari and high-end Ford performance cars is being listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX).

Based in Geelong, Victoria, Carbon Revolution employs 346 people, and in September last year more than tripled the size of its production facilities on the back of a grant from the Victorian Government.

It's the exclusive supplier of carbon-fibre wheels to Ferrari for the 488 Pista, and produces wheels for the Ford GT and Shelby GT350R, and the record-breaking Renault Megane RS Trophy-R.

Carbon-fibre wheels reduce rotating unsprung mass compared to conventional alloy wheels, making them an attractive option for high-end performance cars.

Carbon Revolution also touts their toughness, claiming they're more durable than conventional lightweight wheels. The company has delivered around 11,000 units since production kicked off in 2015.

Shares will begin trading on November 29, priced at $2.60 each.

CarAdvice understands Carbon Revolution is pitching itself to investors as the only company to have developed and manufactured one-piece carbon wheels consistently to carmaker standards.

The investment prospectus also says the company has contracts with five carmakers to develop wheels for nine vehicles, six of which have entered production.
