Lamborghini Lambo V12 Vision Gran Turismo revealed

The one-seat concept made its real-life debut overnight, and will be available for virtual racing next year.

Lamborghini Lambo V12 Vision Gran Turismo — yes, that the full official name — was unveiled in Monte Carlo at the finals of the Gran Turismo Championships e-sports competition.

The single-seat Lamborghini will be available for players to drive in Gran Turismo Sport on PlayStation 4 during the second quarter of 2020.

Lamborghini says the concept was designed as a single seater because a driver is all that's required for a racing game. The driver enters the car from the front, just like a jet-fighter pilot would board his plane.

Inside the cabin there's an open-top steering wheel, while all of the car's displays are projected onto the windscreen.

According to the company, the Lambo V12 Vision GT has hexagonal-themed side windows inspired by the 1968 Marzal, while the main body is visually disconnected from its wheel arches.

"It is an opportunity for the design talent within Lamborghini to stretch its wings and visualise a car that ... mirrors Lamborghini's push on future technologies, particularly in the arena of lightweight materials and hybridisation," Mitja Borkert, head of Lamborghini Centro Stile, said at the concept's launch.

The virtual version of the V12 Vision GT will use the Sian's V12 hybrid powertrain, which has a 577kW 12-cylinder engine coupled to a 25kW electric motor located in the transmission.
