It must be fun test driving prototypes of soon to be release cars. Even more so when you work for AMG. The performance arm of Mercedes-Benz is currently working on several models, such as SLS Roadster, CLS AMG, SLK AMG and ML AMG, but the one that every test driver will no doubt want to drive is the Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG.
Although still under heavy camouflage we can tell it apart from the ‘standard’ SL thanks to its different front spoiler as well as bigger performance calipers and brakes, with cross drilled discs in both front and rear.
The SL 63 AMG will also make use of quad exhaust pipes that emit the sound of a new 5.5-litre V8 twin-turbo engine developing an estimated 571 hp (426kW). The V8 will deliver its power through an AMG Speedshift MCT 7-speed sports transmission.
More details as they come.
