2020 Mercedes-Benz V-Class pricing and specs

Updated luxury people-mover range now gets standard AEB and lightly revised design, along with new available features.

Mercedes-Benz Vans Australia has detailed the facelifted V-Class range, bringing autonomous emergency braking as standard across the range along with a range of new comfort features and technologies.

Priced from an unchanged $79,627 plus on-road costs for the entry-level V220d, the updated V-Class is distinguished externally by a new front bumper and 'diamond' grille insert, new alloy wheel designs (17-inches for the V220d, 18-inches for the V250d), along with three new available metallic paint finishes.

Inside, there's newly-available optional luxury seats borrowed from the S-Class limousine, offering a full reclining function, back massaging and climatisation (heating/ventilation). Passengers can choose from three different massage 'intensities' and three climatisation 'stages'.

Other changes for the interior include a new high-gloss black finish for the V220d's cabin accents, while the V250d gets a double-stripe look for the trim inserts and new air vents in "sporty turbine appearance". The top-spec V-Class also gets the new option of 'Tartufo' nappa leather upholstery.

New driver assistance and active safety systems will be either standard or available for the first time, too. 'Active Brake Assist', or autonomous emergency braking, is standard across the range and includes low-speed pedestrian detection.

The V250d is newly fitted with Highbeam Assist Plus as standard, also available as an option on the V220d.

"The V-Class is a versatile and multi-talented vehicle, which offers something unique to our market," said Diane Tarr, managing director for Mercedes-Benz Vans Australia and New Zealand.

"It’s for families with an active lifestyle who need space and comfort, but don’t want to forgo luxury and safety. Plus it has proven to be a popular choice for business operators who need to transport people in a stylish, sophisticated way."

As before, the V-Class range is powered by a 2.1-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder diesel in two states of tune. The V220d offers 120kW and 380Nm, while the V250d is rated at 140kW and 440Nm.
