Hyundai Veloster N Performance Concept revealed

More aggressive looks and improved handling are the key aims for this SEMA-bound concept car.

The Hyundai Veloster N Performance Concept has been unveiled ahead of its in-the-flesh debut at the 2019 SEMA show in Las Vegas next month.

The concept builds on the Veloster N, which isn't available in Australia, and features adjustments to improve its looks and handling.

Riding on 19-inch OZ forged wheels and 235/35 Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tyres, the concept also has new Extreme Racing coil-over suspension, H&R springs and Daewon Steel anti-roll bars at both ends.

The car should be stiffer thanks to front, centre and rear chassis braces. Stopping ability comes courtesy of 380mm front discs with six-piston calipers, and 360mm units at the rear with four-pot calipers.

It seems as though the Veloster N's 205kW/353Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged engine has been left untouched.

Visual changes include a new vented bonnet, a front splitter, rear spoiler and diffuser, and a revised grille design.

For the interior, fake suede now covers the parking brake, headliner and pillar liners, dashboard top, arm rests and door trim, and the steering wheel.

Other upgrades include Sabelt carbon sport seats covered in a mixture of leather and fake suede, a red starter button, and an aluminium gear knob.
