Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo revealed

The Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo virtual hypercar is said to be powered by three electric motors generating a total of 750kW of power, and 1200Nm of torque.

Jaguar says the car weighs around 1400 kilograms, and is capable (in theory at least) of completing the 0-100km/h dash in under two seconds.

Given the company's poor financial situation — it lost £3.6 billion ($6.8 billion) last year, and had it slash its workforce by around 4500 people — the Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo seems likely to stay within the digital realm.

Despite this, the concept's styling could give us a few clues about the company's first electric sedan, the next-generation XJ, which is due next year.

The Vision Gran Turismo's front wheel arches are said to be inspired by the C-Type's, while the long nose silhouette comes from the D-Type, and the cabin draws upon the legacy of the E-Type.

Interestingly, the concept has two charging sockets, one for each of the car's rear haunches. A similar layout was used for the fuel fillers for the 1968 XJ sedan.

Perhaps just as importantly, the virtual concept also features the Leaper mascot in the middle of its closed-off grille rather than the traditional roaring cat badge.

The Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo will be available for download in Gran Turismo Sport from the end of November.
