2020 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet spied

Porsche's power-packed 911 Turbo has been snapped testing with minimal camouflage, suggesting a reveal is on the horizon.

Porsche's fastest open-top 992-generation 911, the 2020 911 Turbo Cabriolet, has been snapped with almost no camouflage during testing.

Although it still looks like a 911, the new Turbo takes Porsche's aggressive shape to new heights with a wheel and tyre package that fills the guards, and a prominent air intake in the rear haunches.

The car's air intakes look slightly wider than those of the stock 911 Carrera, Carrera S and Carrera 4S, while the splitter appears deeper than before. There's an impressive array of intercoolers lurking behind the bumper, too.

Down back, the number plate has been moved to the centre of the rear bumper to house the car's broader, more aggressive rear diffuser. The exhaust pipes are large oval units, flanked by broad cooling vents slashed into the outer edges of the bumper.

As with the current Turbo range, the car pictured here has a more prominent rear wing sitting above its LED light strip. The vent above the engine cover remains.

The Turbo variants will once again be powered by a turbocharged six-cylinder boxer engine.

There's no word yet on how much power and torque they'll have, but we expect it to be more than the 397kW/660Nm and 427kW/700Nm available respectively in the current Turbo and Turbo S.

All-wheel drive, a dual-clutch transmission, torque vectoring, and dynamic dampers are all likely inclusions.
