Citroen Dispatch, Peugeot Expert recalled

Peugeot Citroen Australia has issued a recall for the Citroen Dispatch and Peugeot Expert vans over concerns the middle seatbelt could be faulty.

The French automotive group reports: "The front central passenger seat belt could unclip from the buckle when braking or avoiding obstacles".

"If the front central passenger buckle unclips, the seat belt would not secure the passenger in the event of sudden braking or an accident, and there is a risk of serious injury."

Affected vehicles and sale dates by model line are as follows:

  • Citroen Dispatch (17 vehicles) - 1 September 2017 to 30 October 2019
  • Peugeot Expert (69 vehicles) - 2 July 2018 to 29 March 2019

VIN lists for affected vans are available here for the Citroen, and here for the Peugeot.

Owners of the recalled vans will be contacted by either Citroen Australia or Peugeot Australia, and advised to present their vehicle to their preferred dealer to have the centre seatbelt buckle "modified with heat shrink sleeve and a foam pad".

For more information, Citroen customers can contact 1800 898 058 and Peugeot customers can contact 1300 304 077.
