2018 Citroen C3 recalled

Citroen has recalled the 2018 C3 hatchback, over concerns about the top tether anchor point on the passenger seat.

According to the company a top-tether child seat anchor point has been fitted to the passenger seat when it shouldn't have been.

Although it's legal to switch off the passenger airbag in Europe, allowing a child seat to be fitted up front, Australian laws don't allow the airbag to be deactivated.

If there's a child seat installed on the front seat and the airbags aren't turned off, there's a risk the child could be injured.

(NOTE: Australian laws on the use of child seats in the front row of a vehicle can be found here.)

A total of 233 cars are included in the campaign – a VIN list is attached here.

Citroen will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a free fix.
