Abarth 695 70th Anniversario unveiled

The Abarth 695 70th Anniversario limited edition has been unveiled at Abarth Day in Milan.

Designed to celebrate the company's founding by Carlo Abarth back in 1949, just 1949 copies of the 695 70th Anniversario will be made.

To help the special edition stand out against lesser models, the lower body and wheel arches are finished in Campovolo grey.

There's also a manually-adjustable rear spoiler with 12 settings between zero and 60 degrees. Abarth says at 60 degrees the spoiler generates a load of 42kg when travelling at 200km/h, and can help to improve high-speed stability.

Other changes include scorpion decals on the bonnet, a chequered flag sticker on the roof, and vintage Abarth scorpion badges. Five colours are available: grey, white, black, blue, and the new exclusive Monza 1958 green.

Under the bonnet the 70th Anniversario has a turbocharged 1.4-litre engine churning out 250Nm of torque from 3000rpm, and 134kW of power. The engine is hooked up to a Monza exhaust and a limited slip differential.

With the rear spoiler set to its zero degree position, the Anniversario has a 0-100km/h time of 6.7 seconds.

The special edition rides on 17-inch SuperSport alloy wheels, and includes a Brembo brake package with red calipers. At the front there are 305mm discs with four-pot aluminium calipers, while 240mm discs grace the rear.

The 70th Anniversario's 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, as well as a built-in telemetry system.
