BMW Australia has confirmed a limited allocation of M4 M Heritage Edition sports cars for our market, with deliveries to commence in "early 2020".

Priced from $167,529 before on-road costs, the M4 M Heritage Edition offers unique colours and appointments to set it apart from the 'standard' M4 Competition on which it's based.

Headlining the spec sheet are three exterior finishes "synonymous with BMW Motorsport" – Laguna Seca Blue, Velvet Blue metallic and Imola Red II.

Three colourway variations will be available too, depending on the exterior colour optioned.

Laguna Seca Blue versions get a Bi-colour Silvertone-Black interior with Turquoise stitching. Meanwhile, the Velvet Blue option brings Silverstone/Black combination upholstery with VelvetBlue/Orange stitching.

Finally, the Imola Red II version gets Red/Black upholstery with contrasting Red/Yellow stitching. All models get full Merino leather interiors as standard.

In addition to the unique colourways, all versions of the M4 M Heritage Edition get bespoke carbon-fibre trim with BMW M tri-color pinstriping, an M Carbon Roof with BMW M tri-colour accents, 20-inch M light forged alloys in Orbit Grey, 'Edition ///M Heritage 1/750' lettering on the cabin trim inserts and door sills, and wireless smartphone charging.

Power comes from the M4 Competition's 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline six making 331kW of power and 550Nm of torque. BMW claims 0-100 takes just 4.0 seconds, while fuel consumption is rated at 8.8L/100km.

Just six examples will be coming to Australia, out of the global production run of 750 units.

These vehicles will make their way Down Under "in early 2020".
