Renault has revealed pricing and specification information for the critical Kadjar SUV, which kicks off at $29,990 before on-road costs.
Power in the Kadjar, which is pitched as a rival to the Nissan Qashqai with which it shares its underpinnings, comes from a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine making 117kW and 260Nm. It's mated exclusively with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, and feeds the front wheels.
The base Life kicks off at $29,990 before on-road costs, jumping to $32,990 before on-roads for the Zen and $37,990 for the Intens.
Wheels ranging from 17- to 19 inches in diameter will be offered, while the exterior comes loaded with chrome and plenty of tough-looking plastic to burnish the car's SUV credentials.
Inside, the entire range is offered with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a Bose audio system is optional.
Range-wide, safety equipment will include parking sensors, a reversing camera, and autonomous emergency braking. Moving up from the base Life to the Zen or Intens also adds side parking sensors, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and keyless entry.
Factory navigation is also standard on the Zen and Intens, but isn't offered on the Life.
The top-spec Intens also gets equipment like LED headlights, automatic high beam, fog lights, and hands-free parking.
Inside, the base model will get cloth seats and manual adjustment, the mid-spec car will gain lumbar support and leatherette trim, while the top-spec car gets electrically-adjustable, heated leather pews. Satin chrome dashboard trim is also reserved for the top-spec model, the wider range gets gloss black instead.
Metallic paint is a $750 option across the range, while the mid-spec Zen can be optioned with a fixed panoramic sunroof and auto-dimming rear-view mirror for $1000.
