The best way to keep that 'new car feeling', for years on end, is to ensure your car is maintained properly. And with a modern vehicle, the best solution is to have your service performed by the dealer.
Servicing has changed a lot in recent years, with most brands supporting open pricing and well-structured service programs at the dealership.
One example is Honda Tailored Servicing. Here, everything from procedure to pricing, is expertly tailored to suit you and your car.
To get things started, your dealership has access to your vehicle’s history, so they are able to understand your individual service requirements.
This is where tailored service comes into play.
Honda’s service is made up of two parts; a wide range of items and checks, which is the BASE service – as well as other things to check based on time or driving conditions.
However, these items will only be replaced if deemed necessary at the time. Honda calls these the ADAPTIVE items.
Let me explain…
The Service Price Guide on the Honda website will show the exact pricing of the BASE service required for your car. While other local repairers offer a base service, Honda’s version covers a very comprehensive range of maintenance work.
The website will also note any potential ADAPTIVE items. Whether you need these or not depends on how, where and the distance your car has been driven – the service team will inspect the items, and only action if they need to.
For example, a car which has covered 50,000km will need the engine air and cabin-pollen filters checked, which is noted as part of the ADAPTIVE schedule
If the pollen filter is fine, the technician will leave it as is. But if the engine air filter is dirty, it will need to be replaced with Genuine Honda Parts
Once the work is complete, your service is recorded and the car is given a once-over, ready for you to collect.
Honda Tailored Servicing is available at all Honda dealers. Check the Honda website honda.com.au for more information and pricing.
