2019 Peugeot Partner and Boxer pricing and specs

Peugeot Australia has announced pricing and specification for its two commercial vans, the Partner and Boxer, continuing the rollout started by the Expert a few months ago.

These two new models reaffirm Peugeot’s commitment to the LCV sector in Australia, and to providing tradies and business owners with safe and viable options. The fitment of AEB as standard is the first range-wide fitment of that system for the brand.

Ben Farlow, managing director for Peugeot Citroen Australia, was bullish in his statements on where the company should be heading.

"We will be ruthlessly prioritising customer experience and trust," he said. That will come on the back of launching a new marketing and brand identity, solidifying the PSA commitment to Australia.

"LCVs are a vital part of that brand position for us," Farlow said.

Available from the fourth quarter of 2019, the Boxer will feature a 4.5-tonne payload and will a single drivetrain – a 2.0-litre turbo diesel mated to a six-speed manual.

Meeting Euro 6 emissions standards, the oiler makes 120kW at 3500rpm and 310Nm at 1500rpm. Claimed fuel use is 6.4L/100km for both body styles.

Two body lengths will be available, with pricing starting from $47,490 for the standard body and $48,990 for the long body. The short body delivers 11.5 cubic metres of cargo volume, while the long body ups the ante to 13 cubic metres.

Like its smaller stablemates, the Boxer will come with plenty of standard safety kit including AEB, a rear-view camera, rear parking sensors and four airbags (drive and passenger with thorax airbags for both).

Peugeot has completed exhaustive reliability and durability testing to ensure the Boxer can take a beating on the worksite, including temperature extremes from -20°C to +40°C, driving through saline spray with no washing between to test rust resistance, and more than half a million door opening and closing cycles to represent ten years of ownership.

The all-new Partner will also be available in two body lengths and sits on Peugeot’s EMP2 platform, which underpins the passenger car and SUV portfolio.

Standard body vans get a turbo charged 1.2-litre petrol engine in two states of tune (82kW or 96kW) both with an eight-speed automatic. Long body variants get a 68kW diesel engine and five-speed manual transmission.

Pricing starts from $25,490 for the lower-powered engine, while the step up to 96kW starts from $30,990. The diesel variant starts from $29,990.

The Partner’s payload is among the best in the segment with a capacity of up to 1000kg. Importantly for a van of its size, the kerb to kerb turning radius is 10.8m for the short body, and 11.4m for the longer body.

Like the Boxer, the Partner launches with an array of standard safety kit including AEB with Active City Brake, lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, a surround rear-vision camera and six airbags (passenger and driver front, curtain and thorax), speed sign recognition, and an electronic speed limiter.

The Partner is also Peugeot’s first LCV to feature the clever i-Cockpit design

All Peugeot light commercial vehicles get a five-year/200,000km warranty. Servicing is required every 12 months/15,000km, and they are also covered by five years roadside assistance.
