2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter recalled
875 vans are included in the campaign, which is related to an issue with the rear lights.
Mercedes-Benz has recalled the 2019 Sprinter van, over concerns the tail-lights might not function properly.
According to the company, a 'software fault' means the tail-lights may malfunction in certain vehicles if the rotary light switch is shifted to a new position in 'less than 0.5 seconds'.
If the tail-lights don't function correctly, the tail-lights may fail completely or operate at a significantly reduced brightness. That makes the vehicle less visible, upping the risk of an accident.
Owners will be warned of the fault with an in-dash indicator, and the brake lights will still function correctly, however.
A total of 875 vehicles are included in the campaign – a VIN list is attached here.
Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted and advised to organise a free fix with their nearest dealer.
