BMW Australia, Chargefox announce charging subscription for i3 owners

BMW Australia and Chargefox have announced a partnership that sees owners of the i3 120Ah get a three-year subscription to the charge solution firm's 'Ultra-Rapid' network.

The benefits program offers a yearly allowance of 250kWh, which equates to a little over six full charges of the top-spec i3's 120Ah battery pack.

It also allows i3 owners to access Chargefox's Ultra-Rapid 350kW fast-charge network, which is powered by 100 per cent renewable energy – a definite plus for the environmentally conscious. There are four of these Ultra-Rapid sites already in operation, with the company aiming to have 22 online by the end of this year.

Once the complimentary allowance is used up, charging is available to i3 120Ah customers "at a discounted rate".

"This new collaboration with Chargefox perfectly underlines our commitment to customer centricity," said Vikram Pawah, CEO for BMW Group Australia.

"Our partnership will make owning an i3 even more pleasurable. Customers can recharge their vehicle very quickly thanks to the new Ultra Rapid chargers, and the best is still yet to come with many more charging locations becoming available around Australia before the end of the year."

The subscription package is available to owners of both the i3 120Ah and i3S 120Ah, priced from $68,700 and $69,900 before on-road costs respectively.
