BMW M4 M Heritage Edition revealed

BMW has revealed the M4 M Heritage Edition ahead of its debut at the DTM racing event on the Nurburgring on September 13.

The special-edition model is limited to just 750 units globally, and will be offered in three exclusive colours when it goes on sale worldwide from November.

Light blue, dark blue and red versions will be offered, the same colours adorning the M Division's tri-colour racing stripes dating back to 1972.

The official names for each finish are as follows – Laguna Seca Blue, Velvet Blue metallic and Imola Red.

In addition to the unique colours, there's a selection of model-specific appointments, too. For example, there's a BMW M stripe on the carbon-fibre reinforced plastic roof, integrated into the composite material at the factory "using a special manufacturing process".

Rounding out the exterior features include 20-inch M light forged alloy wheels in star-spoke design with Orbit Grey matte finish and staggered tyres.

The interior gets unique specification compared to your 'regular' run-of-the-mill M4 as well. A selection of colourways are available for the full-leather upholstery, contrasting stitching which is offered in several colours depending on exterior colour chosen, carbon interior trim with M tri-colour stripes, and numbered plaques in the door sills.

Power comes from the familiar 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged straight six, making 331kW of power and 550Nm of torque.

Australia

BMW's local division was unable to confirm whether we'll see the M4 M Heritage Edition in Australian showrooms any time soon.

Given previous form, though, we'd be surprised if a limited allocation didn't make their way Down Under.
