2020 Skoda Scala Monte Carlo revealed

Skoda has revealed the Scala Monte Carlo, bringing a sportier trim level to its all-new hatchback range.

Like other Monte Carlo models in the Skoda line-up, the Scala Monte Carlo picks up extras like blacked-out exterior design elements for the grille, mirrors and badging, along with black 17-inch alloys as standard – with larger 18-inch rims available as an option.

Other special appointments include 'SunSet' tinted side windows, a panoramic sunroof, extended rear window glass, a black roof spoiler, black diffuser insert, and full-LED tail-lights.

Inside, the rally-inspired theme continues with front sports seats trimmed in model-specific cloth upholstery, contrasting red stitching for the steering wheel, gearshift and handbrake lever, LED ambient lighting in red, aluminium pedals, special floor mats, black roof liner and 'Scala' lettering on the door sills.

For the European market, the Scala Monte Carlo will be available with the entire engine line-up, including turbocharged three- and four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.

The Skoda Scala Monte Carlo will make its public debut at the Frankfurt motor show next week, before going on sale in Europe during the fourth quarter of 2019.

Australia

Speaking with Drive, Skoda's local communications boss, Paul Pottinger, said: "Skoda intends that Scala will launch with both Monte Carlo and the rest of the range. Likewise Kamiq".

The wider Scala range is scheduled to land in Australia in the first half of 2020, with the 110kW/250Nm 1.5-litre turbo petrol shared with the Karoq SUV expected to be the sole powertrain option locally.
