2020 Nissan Patrol leaked

Images of Nissan's facelifted 2020 Patrol have lobbed online, revealing the LandCruiser-fighter's upright new look.

Photos published on Almuraba show how Nissan will apply the design language it's developed across its line of city-focused crossovers to the hulking Patrol off-roader.

The V8 four-wheel drive hasn't been given a major styling tweak since launching in 2010, although its equipment levels have been adjusted locally.

The only part of the car that's hidden is the grille, revealing the Patrol's bold LED running lights and matching chrome detailing on the bottom of the bumper.

Down back, the upright shape of the current Patrol appears to have carried over, albeit with redesigned tail-lights and detailing in the bumpers that give it a closer resemblance to the related Infiniti QX80.

The interior has been treated to wholesale changes, where the button-heavy current design has made way for a dual-screen design like that of various Infiniti cars.

With red leather seats, it seems like a properly luxurious place to spend time. Whether Nissan has given the dual-screen infotainment system a redesign for 2020 remains to be seen.

All versions of the Patrol are currently fitted with a 298kW/560Nm 5.6-litre V8 engine, which sends drive to all four wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission as standard. There's no word on whether the engine will be tweaked, but reports from overseas suggest it won't be.
