2020 Volvo V90 facelift spied

Subtle exterior changes may not make it to Australia if our reading of the sales tea leaves proves to be correct.

The updated Volvo V90 wagon has been spied at a car park in the European Alps, and the changes seem to be fairly minor as there's only a little bit of disguise at both ends.

Up front the lower section of the bumper has a straighter design, and there's a bit of black tape hiding some minor revisions for the fog light area and fake air intake.

The grille slats also seem to have a more concave design, similar to the units found on the facelifted XC90 crossover.

At the rear, the lower portion of the bumper is covered by tape suggesting revisions to the exhaust tips and diffuser-style element.

The tail-light section in the tailgate has also been taped over, and features a new pronounced ridge.

The V90 should also gain Android Auto support, as well as the mild-hybrid petrol and diesel drivetrains available for some markets in the revised XC90 range.

Australia

In January this year, Volvo Australia decided to axe the S90 from its range, as the sedan found just 93 willing buyers in 2018. The XC90, meanwhile, managed a healthy 1170 sales.

With just 57 V90 Cross Country wagons sold in the country last year, it's not clear if the updated car will make its way Down Under.

The regular V90 wagon never found its way to our shores as it was delayed multiple times before being officially put "on the back-burner" at the beginning of 2019.
