2019 Peugeot 508 pricing and specs
The all-new 2019 Peugeot 508 line-up has arrived in Australia, offering just one trim level in two body styles.
Pricing for the 508 GT Fastback starts at $53,990 plus on-road costs, while the 508 GT Sportswagon commands a $2000 premium at $55,990 before on-road costs.
Both models are powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine making 165kW at 5500rpm and 300Nm at 2750rpm. Drive is sent exclusively to the front wheels via a new eight-speed automatic transmission supplied by Japan's Aisin, which debuted Down Under in the limited-edition 308 GT.
The Euro 6-certified motor claims to use 6.3L/100km on the combined cycle, and utilises a petrol particulate filter like the related powertrain in the 308 GT.
Peugeot claims the 508 GT Fastback can hit 100km/h in 8.1 seconds, while the Sportswagon is fractionally slower at 8.2 seconds.
Standard equipment includes the company's latest suite of driver assistance systems, including a semi-autonomous highway driving assist that incorporates adaptive cruise and lane keep assist functions, nappa leather upholstery with massaging front seats, full-LED lighting front and rear, a 12.3-inch digital driver's display, and a 10.0-inch central infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Nine different exterior features will be offered, including two blues, four greys, black, red and white. Metallic paints ask for an additional $690, while premium paints (Ultimate Red and Pearl White) attract $1050 extra. The sole no-cost paint option is Hurricane Grey, a solid finish.
Other than the cost-option paints, the only other available option is a powered sunroof, which asks for an additional $2500.

Like the French brand's wider range, the new 508 is covered by a five year, unlimited kilometre warranty with five years of roadside assistance and five years of capped-price servicing.
