2021 Hyundai Tucson spied

Next-generation crossover is well camouflage, but is said to have styling that will make you 'freak out'.

The next-generation Hyundai Tucson has been photographed doing a bit of hot weather testing in Europe.

As with the recent Hyundai crossovers, such as the Kona and Palisade, the next-generation Tucson looks as though it will feature a thin high-mounted set of LED driving lights with the main and high beam lights hidden lower down the fascia.

We're not sure if the prominent grille, inspired by the HDC-2 Grandmaster concept, will make it through to the production car or is a deliberate ruse.

In April Sangyup Lee, vice president of styling at the Hyundai Design Center, hinted to Motor1 the Tucson could have more outlandish styling than the Venue and Sonata.

"If you think [they are] exciting, you see [the Tucson], you will freak out," Lee said.

According to Indian Autos Blog the new Tucson will be sold on the subcontinent in both two- and three-row forms.

Given the five-year lifespan of previous generations of the Tucson, it's likely the new model will make its debut some time next year.

When the new small crossover is launched it will, once again, be a highly important part of the company's global lineup.

Last year the Tucson was the company's second best selling vehicle (19,261) in Australia behind the i30 (28,188), although sales did drop by just over 19 per cent compared to 2017.
