2020 Hyundai i10 spied

Hyundai's latest small hatch has been spied undergoing testing ahead of its debut next month.

The next-generation Hyundai i10 city hatch has been spied undergoing testing in southern Europe.

Although the car is well concealed underneath disguise tape and covers for the doors, hatch, and front fascia, we can see the prototype is upright and slab-sided than the exaggerated sketch released by Hyundai earlier this month.

The prototype does, however, feature lights within its grille, and a rapidly rising side window graphic. With its low-profile tyres, alloy wheels and dual exhaust tips this car could preview an N Line variant for the new i10.

The new i10 will make its global debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September.

Confirmed features available on the new i10 include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring support, wireless smartphone charging, autonomous emergency braking, reversing camera, lane keeping assist, driver attention warnings, and automatic high beam operation.

According to the company, the next-generation i10 was developed by Hyundai's European operations and will also be built there.

Australia

Earlier this month Hyundai Australia confirmed the new i10 is "under consideration" for the local market.

While a Europe-sourced version of the i10 could be problematic in terms of pricing, it's possible the new car could be produced in more affordable locations as the current vehicle is also built in India and Turkey.
