McLaren officially opens Adelaide showroom

The fourth McLaren Automotive showroom in Australia – McLaren Adelaide – has officially opened its doors, despite having already been in operation for the past few months.

Zagame Automotive, which also operates McLaren Melbourne, has opened the new location on Glen Osmond Road in Frewville, south-east of Adelaide’s CBD.

The location in Australia’s fifth most populous city joins the existing Sydney, Melbourne and Gold Coast showrooms in the network. Poor old Perth, Australia’s fourth most populous city, will have to wait, while Brisbane residents will just have to drive an hour south for now.

The new location will improve access and boost interest for buyers who would have otherwise dealt out of state or steered toward other brands, which should see incremental growth for its Australian sales. On numbers alone, McLaren's local operation appeared to see a downturn in sales last year, but the British supercar manufacturer maintains its showroom performance is tracking well against regional allocation and model cycle.

At its Zagame showroom, the brand shares floor space with Bentley, Lamborghini and Lotus, while also offering pre-owned cars through the McLaren Qualified Programme.

McLaren's Australian dealers will soon welcome the arrival of the upcoming GT model. The elegant grand tourer will reach our shores late this month, joining the Sports Series and Super Series supercar families in Australian showrooms.

The GT is the next model in a planned onslaught of products, McLaren Automotive investing £1.2 billion ($A2.14 billion) in delivering 18 new models by the end of 2025 under its Track25 plan. The GT is the third model released this year as part of that plan, coming after the 600LT Spider and the track-only Senna GTR.
