2020 Audi A5 pricing and specs

Audi has added a raft of safety and convenience features to its A5 45 TFSI quattro models, as the company looks to reverse its local sales slide.


The range-topping A5 45 TFSI quattro is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine making 185kW and 340Nm, hooked up to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Quattro all-wheel drive is standard, naturally.

Standard equipment for 2019 now includes the S line exterior package, a set of 19-inch alloy wheels, memory seats and mirrors, wireless phone charging, heated front seats, and dual rear USB ports over the outgoing car.

It's also gained lane-keeping assist, high-beam assist, adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, along with parking assist and a 360-degree camera.

Audi says the extra equipment is worth $9000, but the price of the A5 45 TFSI quattro Coupe and Sportback has been cut by $2800 to $78,900 before on-road costs.

The drop-top A5 has been given the same cut, with a sticker price of $92,400 before on-road costs. Pricing for the entry-level 40 TFSI remains unchanged, starting at $70,100 before on-road costs for the Coupe and Sportback, and running to $83,600 before on-roads for the Cabriolet.

Audi sales are down 32.7 per cent year-to-date in Australia, although the A5 Sportback was actually up 3.9 per cent to the end of July.
