Acura Type S concept teased

Acura, luxury arm of Honda, has teased its upcoming Type S concept ahead of a full reveal at Monterey Car Week on August 15.

The marque released the above image and a shadowy preview video (below), showing a vehicle "with a powerful stance and expressive silhouette".

It appears the Type S concept will take the form of a large four-door coupe, and feature an angular face typical of the company's current models. The sliver of the rear we can see in the teaser image also looks a bit like the 2016 Precision concept.

While dubbed a concept, it's reported the vehicle bound for Monterey Car Week will preview a new flagship sedan for the brand, which should serve as a successor to the ageing RLX, which is also rebadged as the Honda Legend in Japan.

Acura has also confirmed the Type S concept signifies the return of its 'Type S' performance sub-brand – though it's unclear which of the brand's models will be first to get the treatment.
