7 August 2018: Lotus Elise meets the girl it's named after

The Lotus Elise has been around for some 22 years, and this week the lightweight sports car reunited with the girl that inspired its name – Elisa Artioli.

Her grandfather is former chairman of Lotus, Romano Artioli, who was overseeing the British sports car manufacturer when the Elise was launched in 1995.


6 August 2016: BMW restores Elvis Presley's 507 roadster

Only 254 examples of the BMW 507 were produced between 1955 and 1958, making it one of the most sought-after BMW models ever built. This particular car’s links with the 'King of Rock and Roll' made it even more exclusive.



8 August 2013: Toyota likely to resurrect Supra name

Toyota’s plans to produce a sports car to sit above the Toyota 86 is likely to see the resurrection of the Supra badge, with the Japanese company’s boss personally fond of the nameplate.



6 August 2010: Chevrolet Corvette to get mid-engined layout

One of Saab's internal and senior engineering staff has revealed General Motors is planning a mid-engined Chevrolet Corvette for the future.

The insider also said the gearbox was specified to handle torque outputs of around 800Nm, which is very close to the current Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1's figure. Chevrolet did have plans to produce a mid-engined version of the iconic model in 2008 but due to the economic damage of the financial crisis, those plans had to be scrapped.



7 August 2009: Aston Martin Rapide revealed in first images

Aston Martin has today released a couple of official images of the car, as well as a few other details, for the first time.

The production version is nearly identical to the concept model seen at the 2006 Detroit Motor Show albeit with a few subtle difference.
