2021 Audi e-tron Scooter unveiled

The Audi e-tron Scooter is the latest addition to the company's range of electric "mobility" products.

Audi claims its new e-tron Scooter is a cross between an electric scooter and skateboard. It can be operated with one hand on the handlebar, and is controlled by the rider shifting their weight around.

The handlebar includes a twist grip to modulate acceleration and braking. The vertical pole also houses the scooter's battery and electronics package, as well as a display showing the battery status.

Also included is a backup hydraulic foot brake, headlight, front and rear running lights, and a brake light. The scooter's foot deck can be customised with wood and carbon-fibre finishes in both grey and black.

The e-tron Scooter weighs 12 kilograms, and can be folded up so it can be carried on public transport and stowed in a car. It can also be pulled around like a trolley.

The automaker says the e-tron Scooter is capable of a top speed of 20km/h, although it has yet to divulge specifications regarding battery capacity and motor output.

The scooter's range rating of 20 kilometres is helped by its regenerative braking facility.

The e-tron Scooter will be available to private customers from late 2020 for a price of around €2000 ($3233).

Audi is considering offering it as an option for people who buy one of its e-tron electric vehicles, as well as offering an in-car charging option.
