2020 Nissan Juke teased… again

The next-generation Nissan Juke has been previewed once again, this time with a shadowy side profile teaser image posted to the European division's Twitter profile.

As we've gathered from the previous two teasers, the new Juke will be an evolution of the current model's design, blending swoopy coupe-like lines with a compact hatchback body and SUV-like ride height.

The dual-tier headlight design will continue – a hallmark of the original – with the top level being the LED daytime-running light and the lower tier housing the main headlight cluster.

It appears the new Juke's design will be heavily influenced by the 2015 Nissan Gripz concept, which itself was inspired by the modified 240Z race cars that won the 1971 and 1973 Safari Rally events in Africa.

While we have no images of the interior yet, or official details of the powertrain, it's been widely speculated the new Juke will offer electrified powertrain options – with potential for series hybrid and plug-in hybrid derivatives.

Given it will be based on the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance's CMF-B modular architecture, the Juke will also be available with a range of more conventional small-capacity turbocharged petrol and diesel engines shared with the likes of the new-generation Renault Clio and Captur, too.

The current-generation Juke has now been on sale for nearly a decade in Europe, and is sorely lacking in areas like driver assistance technology and infotainment. Expect the new model to offer Nissan's 'ProPilot' semi-autonomous driving systems, allowing for Level 2 driverless capability on the highway.

It's believed the new Juke will debut late in August or early September, ahead of a public debut at the Frankfurt motor show.
