McLaren 600LT Pikes Peak Collection revealed

McLaren has revealed a collection of six 600LT Spiders developed by McLaren Special Operations to celebrate the Pikes Peak hillclimb.

Each of the six cars are fitted with MSO Bespoke or Heritage paint, contrasting with a gold and matte black stripe and gold wheels.

The entire collection is fitted with the MSO Club Sport Pack, which brings carbon-fibre aerodynamic add-ons, carbon-fibre louvres in the arches, titanium wheel bolts and seats nicked from the Senna.

The cabin has been treated to a set of extended paddle shifters finished in Satin Gold, along with a Satin Gold band on the steering wheel. Each headrest has the Pikes Peak logo embroidered into it, and each car gets a 'dedication plaque' reading 'Pikes Peak Collection 1 of 6'.

"We are thrilled that McLaren Denver has created a special, market specific commission based on the 600LT Spider.

"These types of commission projects are becoming an important part of our business and it highlights the continued engagement of the dealer network and customers,” said Tony Joseph, president of McLaren North America.

“The 600LT Spider is already a special car, with the emphasis on track prowess and it’s limited numbers – and owning a car that fits the Longtail ethos, while benefiting from open air driving – it’s a really special proposition.”

Power in the 600LT comes from a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine making 441kW and 620Nm. It's put exclusively to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Fewer than 50 examples will be offered in Australia, between both Coupe and Spider.
