Pagani Huayra BC Roadster teased

Pagani Automobili has teased the upcoming Huayra BC Roadster, which the company has dubbed "a tremendous science and design challenge".

BC stands for Benny Caiola, the first Pagani customer and a friend of founder Horacio Pagani. In terms of what will change compared to the 'standard' Huayra Roadster, the open-top BC should lose weight while also getting a decent power bump.

Like the coupe version, the Huayra BC Roadster will get a beefed-up version of the 'standard' model's 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged V12 sourced from Mercedes-AMG, which will develop over 552kW (a final power figure was never released) and a whopping 1000Nm of torque.

The updated engine is paired to a new seven-speed automated manual transmission by Xtrac, which is claimed to be 40 per cent lighter than the dual-clutch transmission that it replaces.

Other expected features previewed by the coupe include a Brembo braking package with 380mm discs and six-piston callipers at the front, and 380mm discs with four-pot units at the rear, 20-inch forged alloys up front and 21-inch rims at the rear which are wrapped in 225/30 (front) and 355/25 (rear) P Zero tyres that were especially designed for the Huayra BC by Pirelli, and suspension setup is said to be 25 per cent lighter than before as it is crafted from HiForg, an aluminium alloy originally designed for aeronautical purposes.

It's believed the Huayra BC Roadster will be revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on August 18, before being produced in very limited numbers – likely to be 20 units like the coupe) – with pricing to start in the millions regardless of currency.
