2020 Mini Countryman spied

The updated Mini SUV has been snapped on the streets of Munich, sporting a (very) mildly revised look.

The 2020 Mini Countryman has been spied on the streets of Munich, previewing the car's mid-life refresh.

As with the revised 'LCI' Mini Hatch range, the Countryman appears to be wearing a fresh grille and front bumper. The headlight internals also look different, although the design team's yellow-and-black camouflage makes it hard to nail down exactly what's changed.

Expect to see a set of LED Matrix headlamps on the options list, working with revised graphics in the taillights and rear bumper to give the Countryman a more modern aesthetic.

Inside, we'd suggest the updated Countryman will get a larger satellite navigation screen in the dashboard, and the expanded array of personalisation options bestowed upon the Hatch.

Engraved trim pieces, puddle lighting with your initials, personalised embroidery – if you're willing to pay, Mini will do essentially anything for you.

Don't expect too much to change under the skin. At the moment, the Countryman is offered with the same range of turbocharged three- and four-cylinder engines as the Hatch and Clubman, although there's also a plug-in hybrid option not offered elsewhere in the Mini line-up.
