2020 Porsche 911 Turbo Convertible spied

The new, mack-daddy of the drop-top 911 range has been snapped during testing.

The next-generation Porsche 911 Turbo Convertible has been spied during hot weather testing, wearing a bold red roof.

Based on a previous leak from the factory floor, and what we know of the Porsche 911 Turbo's forebears, there's no doubt what we're looking it is the range-topping Turbo drop-top.

For one, it has pumped-up guards and an air intake over the rear wheel arches, along with a more prominent rear spoiler than is offered on the stock car. It's quite a tall unit on this tester, but we'd wager the production car will have a slightly better integrated setup.

It rides on a set of large alloy wheels with a design echoing those of the current model, with large carbon-ceramic brakes hiding behind.

There's no word on how much power the new Turbo will make when it launches, but expect it to usurp the 427kW and 750Nm offered by the current Turbo S. It'll be all-wheel drive, and is like to offer the full suite of active Porsche chassis systems, including dynamic dampers, active engine mounts and torque vectoring.

We don't have any indication of when the 992-generation 911 Turbo is set to launch, but given how ready it looks, the Frankfurt motor show next month isn't out of the question. Stay tuned.
