Toyota Supra orders re-opening on July 17

Alex Misoyannis • Want to get your hands on a new Toyota Supra, but missed out on the first allocation?

Toyota has announced the order books will re-open on July 17 at midday, Melbourne and Sydney time.

Just 100 examples of the Japanese sports coupe (and its German heart) will be up for grabs on Wednesday, with customers able to choose between GT and GTS model grades.

Nurburg Matte Grey paint hue won't be available for the second round of buyers. Blame high demand, which saw Toyota Australia’s entire allocation for the ultra-limited colour sold out until the end of the year.

The first wave of reservations opened on June 19th, with all 150 cars snapped up in just 22 minutes.

As a refresher on how the ordering process works, interested buyers must log on to the myToyota portal at the designated time and fill out an application form, which includes selecting your preferred trim level and colour, and paying a $1,000 fully-refundable reservation fee.

A Toyota concierge will then get in contact, confirming your specification with a $4,000 deposit.

Two trim levels will be on offer, as before. Priced from $84,900 before on-road costs, the GT gets 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, autonomous emergency braking, an 8.8-inch touchscreen, parking sensors, dual-zone climate, wireless phone charging and folding mirrors.

The top-spec GTS, priced from $94,900 before on-road costs, adds 19-inch forged alloys, premium JBL sound system, a head-up display and bigger brakes.

Both models feature the same 3.0-litre BMW-sourced turbocharged inline-six producing 250kW of power and 500Nm of torque, enabling a 4.4-second sprint to 100km/h.

The second wave of Toyota Supra orders open on July 17, ahead of deliveries commencing in the third quarter.
