Korean brand aiming ‘to go big’ with all-new vehicle destined for Europe, but is it the next i20 or something else?

Hyundai Motor Europe has teased an all-new model bound for reval at the Frankfurt motor show in September, previewing the vehicle with a single shadowy sketch.

From the limited amount of detail we can see in the image, it appears the new vehicle is some form of hatchback or crossover, which will have a ‘floating roof’ C-pillar design.

The Korean brand hasn’t offered much in terms of further detail, other than the new model “will offer customers new exterior and interior design, as well as new connectivity and safety features which will make it a leader in its class”.

More information has been promised for the coming weeks.

Our guess? Hyundai’s European arm is preparing either an all-new i20 light hatch, or its own subcompact crossover since it doesn’t offer the Venue bound for Australia later this year – Kia has taken a similar approach with the XCeed and Seltos.

Stay tuned for all the latest in the coming weeks.
