An issue with the electric power steering harness has forced the luxury British GT back to the dealership.

Bentley has recalled the 2018-19 Continental GT, over concerns about the electric power steering wiring harness.

According to the company, an improper manufacturing process could trap the electric power steering wiring loom between the subframe and subframe closing plate on right-hand drive cars.

If the harness is trapped, it could short circuit and make the power steering assistance cut out. In some cases, it could also pose a fire risk.

Both those conditions increase the risk of accident, both for the driver and other road users.

A total of 123 cars are included in the campaign – a VIN list is attached here.

Bentley will contact owners and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealer. The original recall notice is attached here.
