2020 Land Rover Defender specifications leaked

Details about the drivetrains, dimensions and features of the Land Rover Defender have been leaked ahead of its launch later this year.

A user on the Disco4.com forum has posted smartphone photos taken of slides outlining the new Defender's key details.

Due to be launched October this year, the first cab off the rank will be the Defender 110. The five-door model will be 4758mm long, 1916mm tall, 1999mm wide, and ride on a 3022mm wheelbase.

The 110 will be offered will be offered with the choice of five-, six- and seven-seat options.

It will be followed in March 2020 by the Defender 90. The three-door variant will be significantly shorter with an overall length of just 4323mm and a truncated 2587mm wheelbase. The 90 is 1927mm tall and 1999mm wide.

Despite its small dimensions, the 90 will be available with either five or six seats. From the car's length and an earlier leak of the interior, the six-seat Defender 90 will have three seats up front.

Both the 90 and 110 have been seen in both spy photos, official teasers and, of course, the car's innumerable leaks.

Lastly, in August next year, Land Rover will launch the Defender 130. Although it shares the 110's 3022mm wheelbase, length has been increased to 5100mm and can accomodate up to eight seats.

The Defender 90 and 110 will be available with three turbo-diesel engine options. The 147kW/430Nm D200 and 177kW/430Nm D240 have a 2.0-litre four-cylinder, while the 221kW/650Nm D300 has a 3.0-litre straight-six.

There will also be three petrol drivetrains on offer. Kicking things off will be the 221kW/400Nm P300 with a 2.0-litre four-pot.

Next up is the 312kW/645Nm P400 plug-in hybrid, which also has a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. Lastly there's the 294kW/550Nm P400 that's powered by a 3.0-litre inline-six.

All drivetrains come standard with all-wheel drive and an automatic transmission. Due to graininess of the posted images, our power and torque may be a little off.

In the UK, the new Defender will be available in Standard, S, SE, HSE and X trim lines.

The entry-level models will come equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, fabric seats with eight-way electric adjustment up front, a 140W six-speaker sound system, a 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and 7.0-inch multifunction display.

Top-spec models include 16-way electric seat adjustment, leather upholstery, a 14-speaker 740W Meridian sound system, 20-inch alloy wheels, matrix LED headlamps, and a 12.0-inch digital instrumentation screen.
