Lotus Evora GT4 concept revealed ahead of Goodwood debut

Lotus Cars has revealed the Evora GT4 concept, which previews the British marque’s upcoming race entry in the 2020 global GT race series.

Set to make its ‘dynamic debut’ at the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this week, not a whole lot has been confirmed about the Evora GT4 concept, though two examples will be on show at the event in identical colour schemes (pictured) which ape the livery of the iconic Lotus Type 25.

One vehicle will be stationed at the Lotus stand at the event, while the other will be driven up the Goodwood Hill Club course by Gavan Kershaw, former winner of the British GT Championships (which he did in a Lotus Evora racer) and Lotus’ director of vehicle attributes.

Joining the Evora GT4 concept on the Lotus stand will be the current range of Elise, Exige and Evora road cars, along with a very special Lotus Type 25 F1 car – known as 25/R6 – which is the actual vehicle Jim Clark set the best-ever lap time of 1 minute 20.4 seconds at the Goodwood circuit in 1965.

“This lap time has never been and never will be bettered due to changes in the original configuration of the circuit, and Lotus is grateful to the Museum Tinguely for the loan of this unique race car.,” Lotus said in its press release.
