2021 Jaguar F-Type facelift spied

Thanks to the current economics of sports, the updated model will be a heavy facelift of the current car.

Both the updated Jaguar F-Type coupe and convertible have been spied undergoing testing on the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Even with their bodies covered from head to toe in camouflage, it's clear the revised F-Type will share the platform and most of its body panels with today's model, which debuted in production form back in 2012.

The most substantial changes have been made to the car's front end. Thanks to the new thin horizontal headlights, there's also a new bonnet, front bumper, grille and front quarter panels which appear to draw inspiration from the I-Pace.

Out the back, the F-Type has new slimmer tail-lights with a square notch instead of today's round one. The rear bumper and diffuser element also look new.

Both of the prototypes spotted by our photography agency have four exhaust tips, suggesting they are powered by V8 engines.

Six-cylinder models could shift to the company's Ingenium straight-six engine if it fits within the engine bay, while four-cylinder base models should also carry over.

A report last year suggested Jaguar was investigating whether to give the F-Type an electric drivetrain. It seems if this is going to happen, it will be as an option further into the car's lifecycle.
