2020 Dodge Charger SRT Widebody teased

The Charger is finally gaining the wider track and enlarged wheel arch option offered on the Challenger, but we'll have to wait a bit longer to see it.

Dodge has teased a wide body version of the Charger SRT, in a video titled "Something Big is Coming...",

The car was first teased when Dodge revealed the Charger Widebody concept at Spring Fest in March this year.

From the teaser video, the design of the front fascia doesn't seem too different from the March concept, although some of the lower intake vents may have grown slightly in size.

Under the bonnet, we expect the new wide body version of the Charger SRT to be fitted with a version of the company's 6.2-litre supercharged Hellcat V8 engine.

It's not known if it will use the standard engine, which in the Challenger is rated at 535kW of power and 889Nm of torque, or the more powerful Redeye variant with 594kW and 959Nm.

In the coupe both of these engines are mated to a six-speed manual as standard, with an eight-speed automatic optional.

For the 2019 model year, the wide body Challenger is also available with a 362kW/644Nm 6.4-litre Hemi V8 engine.

All wide body Challengers come with wider front and rear wheel arches, and 20-inch Devils Rim alloy wheels with 305/35 tyres.
