2020 Land Rover Defender Lego model leaked
While it's a not a one-for-one likeness of the new Defender, the Lego version does reveal some styling details and the availability of a straight-six engine.
The Lego Technic version of the Land Rover Defender was accidentally published on a UK retailer's website recently.
Although the listing on Smyths Toys has been taken down, it was noticed and published by The Brothers Brick.
In the UK, the Lego version of the Defender will go on sale in October this year for £160 ($293). The model measures 22cm tall, 42cm long, and 20cm wide, and is the first Technic model to feature olive green panels.
It also features three differentials, independent suspension, a four-speed sequential transmission, a working steering mechanism, and a winch at the front.
The 2573-piece Lego set is also said to include a "detailed inline six-cylinder engine", suggesting the Ingenium six-pot will be available in the new Defender.
While the Lego car is modelled on the three-door short wheelbase Defender '90', the new off-roader will also be available as a five-door '110' model.
Details from the Lego car point to the production Defender having a single-bar grille, round headlights, and a power dome on the bonnet.
Spy photos indicate the life-size Defender will be available with independent rear suspension, an anti-roll bar, and air suspension.
A mockup of the SUV's interior was leaked in February. While the cabin seems to be simple and easy-to-clean, it will feature modern conveniences, such as a digital instrumentation display and a touchscreen infotainment system.
