Mercedes-Benz entire S-Class range to get AMG Bang & Olufsen BeoSound

The 15-speaker, 1200 Watt Bang & Olufsen audio system fitted to the AMG variant of the Mercerdes-Benz S-Class will become standard fitment on all of the S-Class range from September, 2010.

The top-end Danish audio gear maker is known to produce the best car audio systems in the business, and only fitted to the most optioned model cars. Bang & Olufsen offer superior levels of sound and visuals to vehicle occupants, providing the ultimate environment.

Take the four front tweeters near the wing mirrors for example. They use LED lighting which adapts to the unit's main interface background colours chosen by the controller. It also uses a light sensor mounted on the windscreen mirror to detect and adjust the brightness of the lighting according to ambient changes. The three-way front speaker layout also automatically senses those in the front seats and optimises sound characteristics to suit.

Managing director of Bang & Olufsen Automotive, Jens Peter Zinck, said in a recent report,

“Bang & Olufsen is very proud to enhance the driving experience of the S-Class with a sound experience pleasing both the ears and the eyes. This product-introduction is a logical step in our continued journey related to bringing audiophile sound into the luxury environment of Mercedes cars."

The company also says it is aiming to release more audio and visual systems for upcoming Mercedes-Benz models, planned for 2012.
