2020 Renault Captur leaked
Next-generation small crossover gets Clio-inspired looks, but we don't know much else at this stage.
The second-generation Renault Captur has been leaked online, ahead of its anticipated reveal later this year.
Posted by user Julien Jodry on Twitter, the single front three-quarter image of the Captur looks very much like a new-generation Clio decked out in hiking gear, with chunkier bumpers, a skid plate element up front, and raised ride height.
Other changes include the contrasting black plastic cladding for the bumper extensions and wheel arches, along with a new fog-light arrangement and the option of a contrasting black roof and mirror caps.
While the roof and window-line are very similar to the related Clio hatchback, there's a different design for the chrome strip underlining the side windows, which now extends towards the tailgate to create a floating roof effect.

Like the Clio, Megane, and Koleos, the Captur has picked up Renault's distinctive C-shaped LED daytime-running lights treatment up front that extends from the headlight cluster into the front bumper.
There's only this image so far, so we can't comment on the design similarities at the rear of the vehicle or in the cabin, though we'd argue that the Captur will stay very close to the layout of the Clio inside with unique colour and trim options – much like the current car.
It's likely the interior will offer more space for passengers and luggage, while powertrain offerings should largely mirror that of the Clio – meaning small-capacity petrol and diesel engines should be available, some augmented by 48V mild-hybrid technology.
A plug-in hybrid version should also be available at some point, though it's unclear whether Renault will offer an all-electric version.
The new Captur will ride on the Alliance's CMF-B platform which already underpins the new Clio, and should form the basis of the next-generation Nissan Juke, too.
