2019 Mazda 3 recalled

The new 'BP' Mazda 3 has been recalled over an issue with its seat belt and front passenger indicator lamps.

According to Mazda, the seatbelt indicator and front passenger airbag deactivation lamps mightn't work correctly. The former could turn off when the seatbelts aren't fastened, the latter may turn off when the passenger airbag isn't active.

Mazda is keen to point out the airbag itself still operates as it's meant to, but the driver mightn't be warned if it's not active.

A total of 231 cars are included in the campaign. A VIN list is attached here.

Mazda will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealership.
