BMW X3 M & X4 M get M Performance Parts

Powered-up SUV twins get more carbon inside and out, along with other motorsport-esque options.

BMW has revealed a range of M Performance Parts for the new X3 M and X4 M super SUVs, including a range of carbon-fibre add-ons and motorsport-inspired accessories.

For the exterior, buyers can opt for a range of components finished in carbon-fibre or gloss back. Carbon-fibre trim is available for the grille surrounds, 'air breathers' and door sill finishers, while high gloss black parts can be specified for the X3 M's roof-mounted rear spoiler and for the X4 M's available rear fins.

Both the X3 M and X4 M can be had with M Performance decals in the performance division's colours with 'M Performance' lettering. There's also LED door projectors that can project the BMW M logo and other graphics onto the ground on each side of the vehicle.

Inside, the carbon-fibre theme continues. There's an M Performance Pro steering wheel available with carbon trim inserts and carbon shift paddles complemented by Alcantara and leather trim, along with a 12 o'clock marker in 'motor racing blue'.

Buyers can simply opt to have just the carbon-fibre shift paddles, or a full leather rim as opposed to the Alcantara grip areas.

The gear selector can be had in carbon-fibre finish, too, while you can accessorise the lower area of the cabin with M Performance floor mats in velour with embroidered M Performance inscription, leather-look surrounds and tri-colour M pennant.

Finally, the M Performance Parts catalogue also includes a branded key case and wheel bags, for that extra degree of personalisation.

Australia

CarAdvice has contacted BMW's local division regarding availability and timing for the M Performance Parts range, and is awaiting a response.

The X3 M and X4 M are due to arrive in Australia during the second half of 2019, solely in top-spec Competition guise. Pricing starts at $157,900 plus on-roads for the X3 M, while the X4 M kicks off at $164,900 before ORCs.

Both models are powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline six making 375kW and 600Nm in Competition spec, with 0-100 taking 4.1 seconds in the X3 M.
